Testing For Echo – Episode 46 – Let’s Rock – Orig. Air Date March 16, 2024

Hi again everyone. Welcome to Episode 46 of Testing For Echo on CHSR FM 97.9 in Fredericton and around the world. I’m your host Tim Scammell.

I’ve noted before that I don’t get too much correspondence for my show and that’s okay with me. I take it to mean that the listeners are happy with what I do.

I just said this a couple of weeks. And then just a few days ago I received an email from my pal Chip that STEVE HACKETT has a new album coming out very soon! It’s been a couple of years since his last one so this if Wonderful welcome news.

I take this as a sign. So, I’m dropping his new song into this show.

Also as an added treat! A new song from local Fredericton friends Trash Oyster!

So please head down the page to the little arrow to download/listen to the show.

Take good care,

Tim

Testing For Echo – Episode 45 – Feels Like Such a Long Time – Orig. Air Date March 2, 2024

Before we begin this episode I would like to mention with sadness the recent passing of local radio legend Don Roberts. In my mind Don was the finest radio personality this town has ever heard. In fact, it was his show “Musical Memories” on CHSR that first caught my interest of CHSR. He will be greatly missed but I’m happy to note that his show continues to play every week on 97.9.

Rest in Peace Don, and thanks for the memories.

I’m not sure why but it feels like such a long time since I have been on here doing doing a new episode.

I think it has to do with the post-holiday season drag. I’m not a fan.

So how do we fix that?

With awesome music! You’re in luck. I just so happen to have some right here. Episode 45 is ready for your listening pleasure.

So please, wrap your ears around these selections and enjoy.

Please feel free to contact me any time with a request, comment, whatever and let me know how we’re doing.

So please head down the page to the little arrow to download/listen to the show.

Take good care,

Tim

My guests today are Finn Boehm (Director), Armin Panjwani (Actor: “Justine”), Caroline Coon (Actor: “Shannon”), involved in the Theatre UNB staging of Post-Democracy by Hannah Moscovitch. They join me to talk about the dark themes and tough moments of this play, and how it frames our view of reality.

The Lunchbox/Real Life Survivor: Gerry Anderson

Childhood is very short, so parents might want to consider reading their kids while they can.

Julie caught up with the very busy Gerry Anderson during his lunch hour.

Writer, producer, director, filmmaker, inventor, creator, graphic designer and father, Canadian born Gerry Anderson has 25 years experience in all aspects of the entertainment industry.

An artist his entire life, Gerry has had the good fortune to work closely with world talents such as Stan Lee and his sister Pamela Anderson in film and television, as an actor, voice over actor and producer on a few hit series.

While working tirelessly to achieve many philanthropic goals, he documented his travels with Pam to the deepest jungles of Honduras and Nicaragua in an effort to stop slash and burn farming, working closely with the local populations demonstrating new methods of growing & eliminating the need to burn valuable rainforest, and been fortunate enough the roll camera on the decks of the infamous Sea Shepherd fleet.

Gerry also works as a propmaker in film and television where he builds massive, creative set pieces. As a writer he has several film projects he has dedicated years to. Two of his films have been made, more to come!

He wrote The Adventures of Burnaby Bear book series dedicated to his second daughter Skylar, inspired by the Canadian black bear. He has 10 more written Burnaby stories written and would love to turn the book series in to an animated series. Part of the motivation for this project is to support the Starry Sky Foundation, dedicated to the protection of wild animals and their natural habitats.
