RFYL Episode – ReadyEP253
Going into a long weekend makes it kind of difficult to set the vibe, so I kind of went for something that transitions both a celebratory vibe with also something for the people who have to work all weekend. And if that doesn’t work for you, I don’t know what to tell you.
I’m not too terribly great at social media these days, but when I went to post up last week’s episode I saw a lot of artists that I’ve followed talking about the passing of Care Failure. I couldn’t not do some tribute; Easily one of my most played bands back when I started was Die Mannequin, and even when I talk about random bands now I usually share at least one or two DM tracks. Definitely puts a weird timestamp on things.

The Lunchbox Interview: Shelley Petit (NBCPD) on Federal Budget 2023

There are multiple levels of government, each with their own goals, domains and financial responsibilities. Sometimes, however, they appear at loggerheads when it comes to important issues.
My guest today is Shelley Petit, Chair of the New Brunswick Coalition of Persons with Disabilities (NBCPD). She joins me to reflect on the recently announced federal budget, particularly where it makes promises (or omits) with respect to those who have the greatest needs.

The Lunchbox Interview: TheatreUNB presents: Shakespeare’s “Henry V”

It has become something of a tradition for theatre to simultaneous revere works of the Bard, and find new resonances with modern life.
My guests today are Len Falkenstein (play director, Director of Theatre at UNB), Heidi Downing (King Henry V); Joshua Burke (Bardolph/Williams). We discuss the desire to stage Henry V, how the play reflects on modern life, and what the experience of representing royalty feels like.
TheatreUNB presents Henry V opens on April 5 at 7:30pm at Memorial Hall at UNB. This play only runs three nights until April 7.

Testing For Echo – Episode 21 – This one will be interesting and a little different – Orig. Air Date April 1, 2023
Hello all. Welcome to Episode 21
This episode is going to sound and feel a little bit different for a few reasons.
First of all, I’m going to put out a huge thank you to my new friend Chip who has helped me get many of the celebrity ID clips between songs. You’re going to hear that there are a few more than before and they are huge. You’ll see.
Secondly, back in the1980’s I snapped up an interesting little 10 inch sampler record by EG Records, just because it looked interesting.
I had more or less forgotten about it until recently so I tracked it down. I have several of the songs interspersed in this show from Brian Eno, David Byrne, Robert Fripp and Adam and the Ants. So you know they’re going to be a little weird. But fun!
Now, just press that little arrow down the left of the page to listen/download the podcast.
Take good care and enjoy!
