The University of New Brunswick Reds men’s soccer team are moving on to the Atlantic University Sport semi-finals after upsetting the third-ranked Saint Mary’s University Huskies 1-0 on their home turf Thursday night.
After barely squeaking into the playoffs as the sixth seed, the Reds defeated the Huskies using a strong defensive scheme and were propelled by a huge performance from keeper Mahmoud Moustafa and a timely goal from his brother, striker Ehad Moustafa. Punching their team’s ticket to the semi-finals against the second-ranked Memorial University Sea-Hawks on Friday.
